The opportunity The purpose of this role is to assist management and simplification of North Investment Menu (including legacy offers) and provide support for regulatory requirements that impact the Investments team. This will include competitive analysis, reporting, on-going fund manager relationship management, as well as acting as providing support for various regulatory requirements. How you will make an impact

Support and assist in delivery of strategic objectives of the Platform Investments team in relation to effective ongoing management of the Investment Menu and simplify internal funds and trusts;

  • Undertake analysis and provide insights regarding APRA peer comparisons (Heatmaps, Annual Performance Tests)
  • APRA APT (APRA Annual Performance Test) legislation reviews and delivery of operational execution
  • Support the performance and fee data validation in preparation of the APT test inputs & outcomes
  • Assisting with various investment related activities covering the North Investments range;

Activities associated with the implementation of investment menu changes (Simplification of legacy offers), such as client, adviser and BDM communications, product disclosures etc.

  • Competitor analysis of the investment menu
  • Review and respond to queries from Distribution / Operations / external sources regarding the investment menu or as they relate to APT and Investment Governance

Support the data analytics and navigating the trustee investment frameworks to support business decisions. Understanding of risk management and compliance by contributing to:

  • Support the resolution of incidents and breaches relating to the Platform Investments team
  • Documentation and maintenance of key process maps and obligations, RACI
  • Maintenance of all relevant controls in risk and compliance strategic systems
What you will bring to the role

Experience & Qualifications required

  • Relevant qualifications within economics or finance are essential with advanced or post graduate study advantageous. Experience in law or risk management desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in product management of superannuation and investment products
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and comfortably deal with change (marketplace and business)
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of risk frameworks, systems, and controls
  • Proven experience in making presentations to internal stakeholders to an investment.

Job Specific Capabilities Required

In addition to your technical skills, you should be able to demonstrate an excellent level of competency in the following:

  • Strong understanding of investments, fund managers and Investment operations and ability to critically evaluate and analyse the impacts from investment reports and change activities.
  • Ability to make sound and justifiable recommendations and the confidence to present those recommendations to investment committees if required.
  • Effective cross functional stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Strong Investment analytics, modelling, and implementation skills
  • Strong Excel & PowerBI skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets is critical.
  • Python & SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of risk frameworks, systems, and controls
